DescriptionHenry "Zip" Zehrer was a former state trooper who started the diner business in 1946 in Danielson, CT. Originally on Route 6, it operated until 1954 when Zehrer bought an O’Mahoney diner and had it to Dayville. Conrad and Olive Jodoin purchased the diner from the Zehrers in 1960 and ran the business for many years. Over time, it became a family business with help from their children who all had a hand in running the business. In 1980, Tom Jodoin with brothers Robert and James began running it. Today the diner is now on its third generation of family ownership. The diner has served customers from around the world including celebrities like Liberace, Alec Baldwin, Kim Basinger, Brian Dennehy, and Renee Zellweger as well as athletes like Joe DiMaggio, Carl Yazstremski and Peter Manfredo, Jr.
