Fergi Ferguson Car Wash Animated Neon Sign
Object/Artifact
The late 1950s animated neon, painted sheet metal pole sign identified one of five Ferguson car washes in the Cincinnati area. The sign was acquired by Terry Carter when the car wash closed in the 1990s, and he placed it on the roof of his bar—Neon’s—in the Over the Rhine area of Cincinnati until he relocated. The sign was next purchased by a local sign dealer when Carter auctioned off some of the contents at his original OTR location.
