DescriptionThis 1950s, double-faced, animated neon sign originally advertised the Colonial Cash and Carry Dairy store in Santa Ana, CA. Its painted words read, "And always remember to provide pure, rich milk for Colonial Customers." It was donated to the Museum of Neon Art by Andy Boersma in 1986 but the sign was in rough condition. So, in 1987, Mr. Boersma made contributions to the Museum so that students could learn more about neon and help fix the sign. Instructor Rick Jenkins and master sign painter Ronn Overby and over 20 students worked to restore the sign. Over time, it blew the Museum's electrical fuses so much that they decided to donate it to the American Sign Museum in 2005.
