Punch-out "TOYS" Metal sign
Object/Artifact
Single-faced, internally-illunimated metal sign cabinet. The illumination is provided by incandescent bulbs whose light is intended to reflect off the tabbed "punch-outs" holes spelling the individual letters. The sign was manufactured by the McSavaney Company based out of Springfield, OH in the 1920s.
Sign was discovered by the museum founder in the window of a New York City toy store, specializing in mint-condition antique toys, while on a personal visit.
