McDonald's Speedee Outdoor Neon Sign Blueprint
Print
An original blueprint (hand-drawn ink on paper) of the neon tubes & overall design for a Speedee McDonald's sign manufactured by Signcrafters, Evansville, IN. It indicates that it is Sheet No. 1, made by the company on April 8, 1959 and includes a seal of H.C.W. Kratz, a professional engineer registered to the state of Indiana.
One of the sign's original installers, Wade Fleck, Sr., left Signcrafters in 1964 to open his own shop, Hank's Signs. His son found the blueprint in the family's shop many years later and donated it to the Museum.
