BW Talgood's Painted Wood Sign

2025.0001.0001

Two high school friends wanted to own a college bar. An existing bar near the University of Cincinnati, called the Sand Bar, was purchased and BW Talgoods was born in December of 1981. The name is a derivation of the owner's names of Wayne Taleff and Brett Goodson. They both had other jobs, so this was an investment which was also fun. They had nightly entertainment from live bands such as Elaine and the Biscaynes to DJ’s and never had a cover charge. They only served beer in 16- and 32-ounce mason jars which had a tendency to disappear. They owned the bar for only 14 months managing to dramatically increase the sales, after which they sold the bar. During this time, they became one of the most popular bars in Clifton. It was located on 211 W. McMillan St. in Clifton.
