From the begining, the museum's goal has been to educate and inspire the public.  Everything from admission tickets to personalized pavers to coffee mug purchases helps keep the lights on, literally and figuratively!

Your membership helps the museum continue to bring in new signs, provide materials for field trips, and continue to be a public institution.

Our Purchase a Paver Campaign allows you to have a personal permanent message that we will inscribe on a paver. The paver will be incorporated into the walkway leading into the Museum’s main entrance. Your personal message will become part of the Museum forever and serve as a sign of your involvement in the American Sign Museum. It is the perfect way to honor your favorite sign lover!

The museum's collection was not built in a day, and it relied on the generosity of others!  Many of  our most iconic signs were donations.  All of our donors are formally recognized with descriptive tags accompanying each item that’s on display.  If you have an item or sign that you think may be of importance to the museum, please email museum founder Tod Swormstedt at with pictures and any information you may have on the object.

The museum is a not-for-profit corporation: all donations are tax deductible.

Gemini, Inc.

The American Sign Museum owes much of its success to Gemini, Inc., and more specifically its owners, Jim and Sharon Weinel.  They have been monumental supporters of the museum from the word “go,” from helping to provide money to help purchase and refurbish our current facility, to recently repairing our roof! They started their own wholesale sign company more than 50 years ago in Minnesota, and their contribution to this and other sign-industry groups is unprecedented. Without them, there wouldn't be an American Sign Museum.
