Rife's Market Neon Sign
Object/Artifact
Rife's market started as an open-air produce stand in 1936, dubbed "the original farmers market with Ohio products and produce from local farmers." It grew to become a full-service well-established market at the corners of Fifth and Grandview Avenues in Columbus' Grandview neighborhood. Over 76 years of selling produce straight from farmers and small producers made for life-long relationships and allowed Rife's to prove its commitment to total quality and service. It was a simple shop full of fresh items with each supplier represented on an Ohio push-pin map.
The store closed in 2014 and a new businesses, Sweet Carrot Restaurant, moved into the space. The sign was inherited by the new business and later donated to the Museum.
