A celebration of the relighting of the Jensen’s Recreation Center took place Friday, October 27. The 1920s sign is 28 feet high, with 1,300 red, green, and white light bulbs and sits atop a landmark building. Animation depicts a bowling ball released from a bowler and throwing a strike. The Echo Park Historical Society spearheaded a fundraising campaign, and the property owner – Vista Investment Group – took on and completed the restoration. Restoration was done by Paul Greenstein, Los Angeles, CA.
