Cincinnati boasts a storied theatrical history and treasures the memories of some legendary though long-lost theaters. Cincinnati stages witnessed innovation, triumph, tragedy and farce over the years, including major influences on advertising and promotion. We’ll hear unusual and occasionally unsavory tales from Cincinnati’s legendary theaters, the celebrities who visited our city and the home-grown talent who changed the American entertainment industry.

Greg Hand, proprietor of the “Cincinnati Curiosities” blog, retired from the University of Cincinnati as associate vice president for public relations. Before his employment by the university, Hand was editor of the Western Hills Press in suburban Cincinnati. In addition to his blog, Hand contributes regularly to Cincinnati Magazine and the WCPO-TV “Cincy Lifestyles” show. With Molly Wellmann and Kent Meloy, Hand presents entertaining history chats in bars and saloons through a program called “Stand-Up History.”

This program is both in-person and virtual. Registrants will receive a program link in a separate email the day of the talk.
