Hastings & Co. Gold Leaf Glass Sign

Hastings & Co. was a leading manufacturer and supplier of gilding materials as well as supplies in the late 19th and 20th century. This sign was gilded with Hastings' Diamond Brand and demonstrates their 3 shades: usual, XX and pale. It was provided to a sign shop for display as a way to advertise the specific type of leafing. The note on the back indicated that Hastings was willing to replace it for the shop any time it broke.

USUAL XX PALE Kindly hang this combination sign and color chart in a prominent place. We will gladly replace it should it become broken, mutilated or lost.
