Object History :

Habig’s was a Westside favorite in Cincinnati until it closed in 2004. The Museum acquired this sign in 2007 and it dates from 1949. This sign is a great example sign makers using a wide range of skills and materials to create a design as the main panel is plastic, with the drink glass spilling down the side made of metal and accentuated with neon and lightbulbs. Despite having been unlit for 3 years, all of the illumination worked perfectly upon arriving at the Museum.
