This is from about the late 1930s to early 1940s. It is a rare example of early screen-printing in advertising. It depicts Dirty Dan the Carbon Man, which was a logo/brand for the Lubrizol Corporation. It also advertises a special automotive additive product that shortly after this time period, the company had switched from producing themselves to manufacturing ingredients for. The donor had worked for the company for more than 30 years.
