Carter Carburetor Point-of-Purchase Countertop Sign

Carter Carburetor counter-top sign has two glass faces: the back one is clear and the forward one is reverse screen-printed.  Very thin glass rods are placed between the glass faces and edgelit top and bottom by neon tubes.

Object History :

Sign was from donor’s personal collection and purchased from Ashland Electric Shop in Ashland, KY–a distributor of electrical auto components owned by J&N Auto Electric in Sharonville, OH.  Donor disassembled the sign to clean it, but never re-assembled.  However, Dave Green, museum friend, was able to repair and re-assemble so that sign is now in working order.
