Edwin “Chago” Andino saw the Museum’s ad in the Opportunity Exchange section and called up to ask if we’d be interested in old sign sketches. The Museum called back and said yes, and that we would be there in mid-November and we could visit. Jim Rhak, art director, also facilitated the acquisition.
*Not cataloged are three rubber stamps for “Sheridan Adv. Co.”
A letter from the donor provided the following information,” Carroll T. Leach born Aug. 12th 1900, died Jan. 8th 1999. Early working years he was managing a “Woolworth’s” in Hazeltown, PA. Started work at Sheridan Sign Co. (Salisbury, MD) Approx. 1935 when the company was owned by Mr. Sheridan. Stopped working at Sheridan in 1984 when the company was owned by Eugene Trapkin. Involved in Boy Scouts for 65 years — was a scoutmaster for 28 years. Was involved in the Asbury Church in Salisbury where he was on the official board and taught Sunday school.”
