The Museum is looking for volunteers! Are you ready to SIGN up?

Volunteers at the American Sign Museum support the mission of celebrating the history of American signage through preservation and education by assisting in a wide range of duties within the Museum. The ASM is seeking individuals who are organized, reliable, and fun-loving. Just as the collection has a wide range of signage, so to does the Museum have tasks of all kind.

The Museum asks for a minimum of 6 hours per month. The Guest Experience Manager is the primary contact for volunteers.

Based on your interests and skill sets you may be able to help the Museum with these areas:

  • Gift Shop- restock and sales
  • Front Desk- take admissions and answer general questions via phone or email
  • Gallery Duty- provide visitors information, monitor collection, and collect surveys
  • Tours- lead tours of the collection for general visitors and private groups
  • Collection and Library- research the history of the collection and assist with cataloging
  • Social Media- assist with creating content for the Museum’s channels
  • Fundraising- assist with grant research, mailings, and event planning

As a thank you for your time and effort the Museum will provide volunteers:

  • Free admission to the Museum
  • Free admission to select programs
  • Museum tee shirt to wear during shift after 18 hours of service
  • Museum pin after 36 hours of service
  • Family level membership after 72 hours of service
  • On-going training related to the collection and your area of support
  • Connection to professionals in the sign industry
  • Free parking
  • Flexible shifts
