Whether you are interested in the sign industry, art, design, history, science, or technology, the American Sign Museum has something for any interest.

The Volunteer will support the Museum’s mission to celebrate the history of American signage through preservation and education through by assisting in a wide range of duties within the Museum. The ASM is seeking individuals who are organized, reliable, and fun-loving who are excited to use their skills to help the Museum grow.

Time commitment: minimum of 6 hours per month

Reports To: Guest Experience Manager

Areas of support (*indicates potential virtual opportunity):

  • Gift Shop- restock and sales

  • Front Desk- take admissions and answer general questions via phone or email

  • Galleries- provide visitors information, monitor collection, and collect surveys

  • Tours- lead tours of the collection for visitors and school groups*

  • Save Old Signs- update news and projects on website and build resource page*

  • Collection- researching history of collection and for temporary exhibitions*

  • Social Media- assist with creating content for Museum’s streams

  • Fundraising- assist with grant research, mailings, and event planning*
