Welcome to Save Old Signs (SOS)—your resource center for information and news about restoring and preserving signs across North America.

This project furthers the museum’s mission “to celebrate the rich history of American signage through preservation and education” by:

  • tracking sign restoration and preservation projects
  • reporting on legal cases and legislative issues that involve vintage signs
  • listing endangered signs and the grassroots movements to save them
  • sharing sign preservation stories of general interest
  • providing resources for your sign preservation project

Our goal is to bring together the sign preservation community and provide an opportunity to share information and resources for the good of all. We look forward to hearing from you.
