An icon of Columbus, Indiana since 1948, the Museum acquired the Gross Hardware Hammer in 2007. It took two years of work by Harmon Sign Company of Toledo, Ohio to restore the hammer to its former glory as all the sign graphics had been painted over in rust primer and the neon removed sometime after the business closed in 1998.
