Dutch Boy Donuts sign is actually two sheetmetal, neon-illuminated sections including a long cabinet sign with a rotating windmill mounted center top. The graphics and text are painted; the “O’s” in the text are made out to be donuts.
Sign was leased to Dutch Boy Donuts for nearly 50 years before a Mexican restaurant replaced it.
Good: Nearly 75% of the neon was broken in transit from Denver. The windmill has a rotator, but no motor.
Sign was crushed in transit so nearly all neon had to be replaced. New motor was installed with re-wiring and new transformers. Sign was broken several times after original restoration.
