Online Auction Raises $19,000 for Operating Budget

15 May

From founder Tod Swomstedt’s June article for Signs of the Times Magazine

The Museum’s Third Annual Online Auction returned to the format of the first event by closing bidding on the final day of the International Sign Association SIGN EXPO, held in Las Vegas April 3-6 in Las Vegas, NV.  This offered the advantage of permitting attendees at the show to bid on-site at the museum’s booth in the ISA exhibit hall.  We were unable to exhibit at last year’s ISA show in Orlando since construction on the new home was in the final eight weeks leading to the Sneak Preview opening in early June.

This year’s auction grossed over $19,000 for the museum’s operating budget, thanks to 43 donations of goods and services from 26 different product manufacturers, distributors, publishers and associations.  There were several “firsts” registered for this auction, including two different offers of dental care services and art classes targeted to local Cincinnati families.  Several first-time donors offered their support, including 3M Company’s Commercial Graphics Division; author and photographer, Steve Cummings; and Montroy Sign and Graphics Supply.  The full slate of donors includes:
